Events - 2010 Season - Edward Jones Points Series

Edward Jones Points Series

Updated on Thursday, February 18th

The Edward Jones Points Series is a series of road races, hill climbs, and time trials held every other Thursday during the 2010 Fairbanks Cycling Club Season. Points for each race will be awarded to the top 10 finishers. A racers 5 best results will be added together to determine the seasons winner.

Cool Twist!
In addition to the 5 race requirement, each person must volunteer at one of the events. Additionally, each person must volunteer at a second event, or have someone volunteer on their behalf. Failing to volunteer at one event and volunteering (or arranging for a volunteer) at a second event means that the racer is ineligible for the series.

Points Table
Points will be awarded to participants as follows:

    1st place finish: 50 points
    2nd place finish: 40 points
    3rd place finish: 30 points
    Finishing at all: 20 points

Organizing a race: 30 points (only one such point award per participant per season.)

    Volunteering: 10 points

Cash Prizes!
Purse is $700 cash prizes (1st=$200, 2nd=$100, 3rd=$50) will be awarded to the top three qualifiers in Men and Women classes. Most Improved racer will receive an award as well (non-cash, but cool).

Awards will be made after the last Points Series Race of the season, the Cripple Creek Time Trial.
