THURSDAY NIGHT ROAD RACE 
     Summit Road Hill Climb -- May 15, 2003 -- 5 Kilometers

Sixteen Fairbanks cyclists missed the lunar eclipse on Thursday evening in
favor of trying to eclipse each other during a race up Summit Drive.  The
cooling temperatures and wind went unnoticed as these riders wound their
way up one of the steepest hills in the area.

Kevin Petrone was the men's and overall winner with a time of nine minutes
and 38 seconds.  The men's class was rounded out with David Dohnal in
second (10:41), and Josh Carlstom in third (10:58).

The women finished strong with Gail Koepf taking first place in 13 minutes 
and one second.  Second place for the women was Sue Stewart (13:29), while 
third place went to Cathy Weeg (14:00).

This was the second of the Fairbanks Cycle Club's Thursday Night Race 
Series.
