YOUTH SERIES RACE
   Youth Mtn. Bike Race -- May 25, 2008 -- .5/1.2/3.6 Miles



The Fairbanks Cycling Club's Junior Cycling program held a mountain bike 
race and treasure hunt at the Birch Hill Recreation Area on Friday night 
under cloudy but rainless skies.  The biggest field and most aggressive 
riders packed into the Kindergarten - 2nd Grade class for a 0.5 mile 
trip around the Birch Hill stadium.  Luke Buth led the way in first 
place, but was closely followed by Isaac Richardson and Jordan Morris.  
Colin Lease lost his lead over the 3rd - 4th Grade class, when the 
entire field took a wrong turn and had to backtrack. Quinn Vinlove 
managed to cross the line in front of Colin Lease and Jena DiFolco.  Eli 
Olson did not have any competition in the 5th - 6th Grade class, so he 
raced in the older age class, crossing as the fifth place finisher in 
that group. Riley Troyer gapped the 7th - 8th grade class from the start 
and lengthened his lead by the finish. Joey Tallan and Bobby Signor 
maintained their 2nd and 3rd positions throughout the 2nd and 3rd laps 
of the 3 lap race.
