EDWARD JONES POINTS SERIES -- THURSDAY NIGHT RACE
     Marcia Burnside Memorial Time Trial -- May 6th, 2010 -- 12 miles

With a race starting temperature of 57 degrees, sustained winds of 12 mph with gusts up 
to 20 mph, the Marcia Burnside memorial time trail was underway.  27 riders braved the 
Fairbanks spring elements to participate in this annual event.  Despite the adverse 
conditions the riders posted very impressive early season results.  Tyson Flaharty was 
again victorious in the Expert class posting a time only 22 seconds slower than last 
year despite the wind.  In the Sport division Dave Crandall had a strong ride, which 
placed him 3rd overall.  No more Sport division for him!  For the ladies, Heather Best had 
an impressive ride coming in first considering her previous longest road ride of the 
season being only 7 miles although, all the winter mountain bike riding may have helped 
a little.

The race could not have occurred without the help from volunteers, most notable Drew 
Harrington, Ken Woods, and Fred Harbison.
