Seems that an eager fatbiker heard that the Birch Hill trails were closed to skiing and figured he would use them for a spin on his fatbike. Nope. The NSCF is still grooming for skiing. Please stay off the Birch Hill trails unless you are on skis. We will let you know when the trails are ready for other uses.
Because the trails quickly transition from snow/ice to mud, that means it might be a while. We don’t want the trails to be ruined by people using them when they are soft and muddy. It’s happened before. A little patience now can help make the trails safer and much more pleasant for the rest of the spring, summer, and fall.
Please spread the word.
