We held the FCC Annual Meeting on Sunday with about a dozen people in attendance. We elected a new board (see below) and discussed a variety of issues, including ordering of new club jerseys and socks and the club’s non-profit status. We heard recaps of the 2019 Chena Hot Springs Ride, the HooDoo Downhill Cup, and the Bike Swap, and discussed possible changes to those events for next year. We also talked about winter rides being offered by the club and local shops.
Last but definitely not least, we talked about the need for more volunteers and active club members. If you would like to help the club add events and increase ridership, please send an email to Rachael, our prez, at pres@fairbankscycleclub.org. We would love your help!
Many thanks to Trax Outdoor Center for hosting the meeting! And many thanks to Trax Yoga for a great pre-meeting yoga session. We also had a pre-meeting ride. Eric and Matt took to the trails at Birch Hill Recreation Area. They had a blast and both rode up the Birch Hill Road bike path for the first time! They agreed that it was much nicer than riding up narrow Birch Hill Road. The trails at Birch Hill are in excellent shape for biking right now. Get out there before the snow flies and the trails turn to ski-only!
Our new board:
