*ADVOCATE FOR IMPROVED TRAFFIC DESIGN AND SAFETY*What the heck is a MUTCD? Well, it’s an important document that sets the standards for traffic design and safety. It hasn’t been updated in more than a decade. People for Bikes has some suggested changes and a sign-on letter for anyone who agrees with those changes. Check it out here. If you agree, sign on!
*ESTER DOME CLEAN UP ON SUNDAY*A lot of bikers use Ester Dome Road. If you are one, consider helping out with this. Also, this is a good reminder to consider picking up a couple of pieces of trash on your next ride. If we all did that, Fairbanks would look a lot nicer.
Shared from Karen JensenFairbanks Trail Users Open Group April 27 Any trail users that use Ester dome road want to help clean it up? 90% is cans and bottles from the alcoholic who lives at the top, but also some fast food wraps, Gu and Powerade plastic, etc. It’s all emerging from the snow, except the cans he’s impaled on twigs to mark his territory. I’d be happy to bring trash bags and a car to haul with, if others want to pick up. Sunday May 2nd, 9am, junction of Ester Dome and St Patrick road.
