*FCC FACEBOOK WEEKLY WRAP-UP* *(An anti-social media compendium for our non-Facebook members)*

*PLEASE GIVE MOOSE, OTHER ANIMALS SPACE THIS WINTER*Moose and other animals are going through a tough time right now and will through the rest of the winter. As one commentator put it: “With the ice layer and volume of snow, all animals big and small are going to go through a catastrophic winter and a die-off event. It’s quite heartbreaking.”
Please be respectful. More than ever, watch your dogs. If they like to chase animals, consider bike-joring so that they will be tied. Be willing to turn around rather than trying to chase moose off the trails so you can continue your ride.
Besides being kind to the animals, doing these things is a safer course of action. Several people in the Interior have already been attacked by stressed moose. At least one person ended up in the hospital.
Also, here is an Alaska Department of Fish and Game page about dealing with aggressive moose.
