*ALASKA DOT CALLS FOR MINING TRAFFIC STUDY*The FCC is happy to see that the Alaska Department of Transportation has called for an independent analysis regarding the proposal by Fort Knox to truck ore from the Tetlin area to the Fort Knox mine near Cleary Summit. We have been concerned about the effects of the increased mining truck traffic might have on cycling. We are keeping an eye on this situation.

*RESOLUTION SUPPORTING NORTH POLE TO SALCHA BIKE/PED PATH *At its March 24 meeting, the Fairbanks Borough Assembly unanimously passed resolution that “supports the need for, and construction of, a dedicated bicycle and pedestrian facility along the Richardson Highway from North Pole to Salcha.”
Thanks to everyone who expressed support. This resolution does not guarantee construction, but it will help to make the path a reality.

*TYSON TIMES TWO! *He did it! Tyson did the White Mountains 100 twice with time to spare!
Shared from White Mountains 100 March 28 If you’ve been following Trackleaders, you saw that we renamed yesterday’s top finisher Tyson “Two” Flaharty when he set out to complete a second loop of the White Mountains 100 race course before the time cutoff. He came rolling in with time to spare. Congratulations Tyson!!
