*FIRST TRIATHLON OF THE SEASON*Bikers who want to change up their routine might want to try the Breakup Triathlon.
Shared from Arctic Triathlon Series
The Breakup Triathlon is held on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus, starting at noon on Sunday, May 8. All transitions will be at the UAF Patty Center.
This is the first sprint triathlon of the season for Fairbanks, Alaska and the only sprint triathlon within a 250 mile radius in the month of May.
The race will consist of a 500 yard swim. Here are a few images to help you orient yourself for the Breakup Triathlon pool swim.
AF Patty Center Pool is a 25-yard, six lane pool. Lane lines separate the lanes. Swimmers are two per lane, meaning each person has their own half of the lane. Anyone who prefers to swim next to the wall just needs to say so when it is their turn to get in the water. The pool area includes mens’ and womens’ locker rooms which are open for your use (although only showers and toilets are accessible in 2022 due to a renovation).
Spectating? The pool has a viewing balcony with bleachers.
