*AIR POLLUTION ASPECTS OF MINE TRUCKING PLAN*A lot of the focus on the Kinross Manh Choh mine trucking plan has been on the traffic aspects of the plan, which would have hundreds of trucks driving through Fairbanks. But one aspect of that is the possible effects on air quality. This could affect a large area of Fairbanks but especially the route of the trucks. This could heavily impact cyclists.
The borough Air Pollution Control Commission recently sent a set of recommendations to Fairbanks Borough Mayor Bryce Ward. Read about it here: safealaskahighways.org/public-hearing-addresses-air-pollution-concerns/

*BIKE FRIDAYS GO GRAVEL*Bike Fridays have been around a long time and been a standard in packable, traveling bikes. Now they’ve got a new one for gravel riding and mountain biking. Read about it here.

Bike Friday recently unveiled their new bike designed for gravel riding and bikepacking on everything from dirt roads to chunky doubletrack to flowy singletrack. Like most Bike Fridays, the All-Packa has 20” wheels and folds into a standard suitcase for travel. It also features clearance for 2.4” tires, a newly developed alt-bar, and loads of mounts and space for bags.
