Come join us for an FCC Sundays on Snow fatbike ride! This will be a no-drop beginner ride with a possibility for a more advanced ride depending on participants. You will need to have some minimal biking skills. Come have some fatbike fun!
All riders need to be members of the Fairbanks Cycle Club. One-day memberships are available for $5. (https://www.fairbankscycleclub.org/membership/).
Date/Start time: January 8, 11am
Start place: Ivory Jack’s (off Goldstream Road). Ivory Jack’s has a large parking lot, but please park as far from the building as you can so we don’t take up spaces for customer.

Estimated tour time: 1.5 to 3 hours. (Though going up and over Ester Dome — if anyone wants to do that — will take 4 to 5 hours.)
Route description: We will head out the Dunbar Trail, which is fairly flat and parallels the Alaska Railroad. After we go out a ways we can turn back. If there is interest (and we can find the trail), there will be the opportunity to head up the old Fireplug trail and then on to the top of Ester Dome. People not interested in that big climb can just head back on the Dunbar. (If you are not familiar with the trails and want to turn back, we won’t send you back without a leader!)
To see the Dunbar Trail (and the part that takes you to the top of Ester Dome) check out Trail Forks: https://www.trailforks.com/trails/dunbar-to-fireplug-and-ester-dome/
Metropolitan Garage has been grooming the Dunbar Trail and reports that it has been in great shape! Check out their Facebook page.
Estimated skill/fitness level needed: No-drop beginner ride/advanced ride.
Cancelation policy: The ride will be canceled if the Goldstream Creek temperature is 15F below or colder at 9am on the Swingley temp page:
