Hello all,
This is a heads up that the FCC will be switching to a membership management system soon. After some research, the board decided to go with Wild Apricot, the system used by a number of groups including the Nordic Ski Club of Fairbanks and the Mat-Su Valley Hikers and Bikers.
Switching to this system will include several immediate advantages: –It will be easier for the club to track membership –Ride leaders will be able to who is up to date on their membership (important for insurance purposes) –Members will have control over their accounts and will be able to see the history of what they’ve done with the club. –The club will be able to send automated emails, including membership renewal reminders. –You will be able to continue paying for your membership online.
One big change is that the FCC official membership will no longer start on April 1 and end on March 31 of the following year. Your year of membership will start when you pay for a membership. You will get a reminder before your renewal date comes up. We have the date when you purchased your membership, so we will transfer that information to the new system. (For example, one member just purchased a membership on February 1, so that membership will be good until next February 1.)
Wild Apricot offers website services, but we will not be changing the website much. We like what we have. (Thank you Don and Rachael!) In the beginning, we will just change how membership is purchased and accessed. Though we will start using the Wild Apricot member email system and will probably drop the this listserv.
We will eventually add some other features from Wild Apricot, such as online waiver forms (where allowed). But we plan to make changes slowly as we get used to the new system.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments send an email to fbx.cycle.club@gmail.com. We expect a few glitches, but hopefully we will be able to fix them quickly and there won’t be too many.
