Last week, Woodriver Elementary School celebrated Bike to Work Week with its own Bike to School Week rides. Every morning, parents brought Woodriver students to the Pump House’s┬áparking lot to mass and prepare for rides led by their PE teacher, Mr. Armstrong, and with Woodriver staff members serving as crossing guards to make sure they safely pedalled alongside the Chena Pump Road bike path to school.

Attendance started at around 45, with numbers of riders increasing every day to the record of 103 young cyclists by Friday morning! Kids had fun, with some road runners reaching the school in under 5 minutes. Overall, kids enjoyed it and a was a great way for everyone to start their day!
