Give yourself the gift of fatbiking! Go for a ride on Christmas Eve!

New to fatbiking or want to try it out? We've got a ride aimed at newbies and beginners. You'll have to supply your own bike and gear, but Rachael will provide advice, guidance, and a bit of wisdom.

If you want to rent a fatbike, check out the places listed below. And we've got cold weather riding tips HERE. If you've got any questions or concerns, you can email Rachael (info below)

When:  Tuesday, December 24, at 11am

Where: Meet at the Tanana Lakes Boat Launch (Google Maps link to meeting area)

Estimated tour time: About an hour or so. About 7 to 10 miles.

Tour Description: The ride will explore some of the flat trails around the Tanana Lakes Recreation Area.

The ride is free, but you'll need to be a member of the Fairbanks Cycle Club. Temporary memberships are available. Participants also need to either sign a liability release form or have signed one earlier this year. Download the form and find out more on our insurance page.

Minimum skill level: Newby and beginners. These are flat, easy trails. Of course, if we get new snow, that always makes it more challenging, but that gives you the opportunity to learn about low tire pressure!

Temperature cut-off: No temperature cut off, but expect to pedal faster the colder it gets. If you want to see what the temperature is before you go, hover over one of the nearby blue dots on this WEBPAGE.

Dogs: No dogs please

FATBIKE RENTALS

If you don't own your own fatbike, but want to try it out, there are a few places around town that rent fatbikes that we know about. (Not all are open on Sundays, so plan ahead.)
