The Ivory Quest is a popular multi-sport race-ish event held in February. It starts and ends at Ivory Jack's in Goldstream Valley. The event is already over, but you can ride part of the route on this relaxed fatbike ride.

When: Sunday, March 9, start at 11 am (REMEMBER THAT DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME STARTS SUNDAY MORNING AT 2AM)
Where: Meet at Ivory Jack's

Estimated tour time/distance: About 2-3 hours.
Tour Description: Start at Ivory Jack's and follow the Ivory Quest route to O'Brien Street, then take the Otter Slide Trail over to the Peat Ponds. But right before you get to the big pond, turn left and take the Ivory Quest route onto Goldstream Creek. Follow the creek to the trail bridge, then get up onto the land-based trails. Follow the Tanana Valley Railroad Trail to Ballaine Road, then loop back to Ivory Jack's (with the possibility of doing a little riding of the Goldstream Valley trails on the east side of Ballaine Road, depending on the desires of the group).
There will be some hills, but nothing too radical. There may be some overflow, but care will be taken to pass over or around it safely.
The ride is free, but you’ll need to be a member of the Fairbanks Cycle Club. Temporary memberships are available.
Minimum skill level: Intermediate level
Intermediate: Can handle short and long climbs, some soft snow and dry and damp (but not flowing) overflow
Temperature cut-off: The ride will be canceled if it’s 20F below or colder at 9 a.m. according this weather station (scroll down to “latest observation”).
Dogs: No dogs please
