While many fatbikers are off racing the White Mountains 100, we'll be enjoying a more leisurely -- but still vigorous -- outing in the Goldstream Valley and hills north.
If it's sunny, bring your sunglasses! The snow really reflects the sun these days!
When: Sunday, March 23, start at 11 am
Where: Ivory Jack's (please park farther away from the restaurant)

Estimated tour time/distance: About 4-5 hours; about 22 miles
Description: Starting at Ivory Jack's, we'll be doing a loop that includes O'Connor Creek, Old Murphy Dome Powerline, El Dorado Creek, and various Goldstream Valley trails. We'll be crossing over a few roads, but we'll have almost no road riding. One of the nice things about Fairbanks fatbiking! We'll probably due the loop clockwise, but we can make a group decision at the start. There will be quite a bit of hill climbing on the first part, but then we'll have some awesome descending! The trails are in great shape for riding right now and the forecast looks to keep them that way.
Minimum skill level: Intermediate (a lot of climbing; no real technical challenges)
Temperature cut-off: The ride will be canceled if it's -20F or below at the Harpers Road off Miller Hill Extension weather station.
Dogs: No dogs please
Leader: Dave James: nobugsinak (at) gmail.com
The ride is free, but you’ll need to be a member of the Fairbanks Cycle Club. Temporary memberships are available.
FATBIKE RENTALS
If you don’t own your own fatbike, but want to try it out, there are a few places around town that rent fatbikes that we know about. (Not all are open on Sundays, so plan ahead.)
