A great Moderate Monday ride. With about 5 minutes to go before the ride start, I was the only one there and getting ready to ride solo. I looked out the car window and Ken had shown up. With Ken there, I knew Amy would be there too. Derek arrived with a fat bike and asked if the was the link up. Suddenly Dean, Travis and Garrett showed up too. From solo to seven in about 6 minutes.

I gave the group my route plan -- off to the top of Ester Dome with a bomb down Henderson or St Patrick. Out to Ester Gas for snacks and then back along the Gold Hill power line to the trail that connects to the Parks Highway bike path and then ride around the UAF experimental fields to finish. There was some discussion about Ester Dome and Henderson and I fixed our route.

We headed out. We rode for a bit and paused at Goldstream Sports to regroup and headed back out. I thought I had told the group we were going down St Patrick’s and Dean turned in with me, but part of the group headed up Ester Dome Rd, I realized I hadn’t. We quickly regrouped and headed out St. Patrick's to the Parks Highway and to Ester Gas. We stopped for snacks and ice cream, and headed back after better explaining the route back.

As we got back on the bike path, a road biker went screaming past us and headed toward the UAF fields. Garrett got distracted by her and started to follow her on to Sheep Creek. We quickly got him back into our fold and made it to the fields and back to the parking lot to finish the ride.
