It was the fifth Sunday of the month and we didn’t originally have a Sunday Brunch Ride planned, but on Thursday we threw one together anyway. It's the last day of the season for Flossie & May's, so out to Ester we went. We had a surprisingly good turnout for such a last minute plan with 11 riders in total showing up.
We took the Sheep Creek Commuter Trail out to Goldstream Sports, then St Pat's to Henderson, and the Parks to Ester. Somewhere off Henderson Eric took us on a non-swampy detour, which was shocking given the recent weather. Speaking of weather, it was chilly but dry in the beginning, only starting to mist when we closed in on the turn into Ester.
The line (and the wait) and Flossie & May's was long though and the rain had more than caught up to us by the time we left. The ladies left the guys behind on the way back. It might have been the weather, it might have been the company, but it's possible that some of us PR'd in order to get out of the rain faster. Eventually, the guys showed up and we all parted ways.
All in all, it was an excellent ride. And if the weather holds (or improves) we'll keep these up.
