Come on out on Sunday, September 21, and help clean up after a bunch of runners!

Every year the Fairbanks Cycle Club helps the Equinox Marathon by cleaning up signs and trash along the marathon route. You don’t have to get up real early and you don’t have to ride the whole route (but you can do both if you want to). Besides helping the marathon, this is a fundraiser for the FCC, since the marathon pays us for our efforts!

If you want to help, meet at the UAF Patty Center parking lot on Sunday, September 21, at noon. Look for the other bikes. We're usually close to Beluga Field where the marathon starts.

This is a great event for bikers who want to get in a ride and help the community. It's also a great ride for runners who want to stretch their legs after participating in the marathon.

The trail is varied from rooty and/or rocky sections to smooth pavement. Mountain bikes or hefty gravel bikes are definitely needed for some parts. Regular gravel bikes will work in others. Fancy road bikes aren't the best choice, but we'll take anything! If you don't have a bike that can deal with the tougher trail sections, we'll make sure you don't get one of those sections.

Hope to see you there!

If you definitely plan to be there, please send an email to Eric at fbxcyclist@gmail.com.
