Rides are fun, but races are competitive! The Fairbanks Cycle Club hosts a several races throughout the year. The calendar is the definitive guide to what’s coming up, but the list here is a good sampling of the ones we put on most years. Most of our races are pretty competitive, but many also have more low-keyed events for riders who don’t have a competitive fire in their bellies, or want to get their toes wet in competition. Check with the race director to find out if a race is right for you!
Chena Hot Springs Bicycle Classic — A ride for families and enthusiasts, and a race for you hard-core-go-fast types.
The HooDoo Cup Mountain Bike Races — These mostly downhill races are a hoot! They have historically taken place at the Ester Dome Singletrack trails.
Past Race Series
These are race series we have had in the past. The directors for these races stepped down for one reason or another, but we would love to have someone start them up again. We can get you in touch with the previous directors to find out how easy and fun it is to run these races!
Points Series — A summer road bike race series. Accumulate victory points by directing a series race, volunteering in a race, and (imagine!) racing in a race.
Rocky Dirt Series — A summer mountain bike race series. In memory of Rocky Reifenstuhl, we introduce the Rocky Dirt Series. Hit the trails and channel your inner Rocky!
Icicle Bicycle Winter Race Series — Fatbiking fun! In Interior Alaska, winter is no reason to stop racing! Check out this series of fun and challenging rides on snow and ice.
