Ester Dome Blender: 6/21/2017

The first Rocky Dirt Series mountain bike race of the season drew several hardy souls to tackle the toughest race of the series. The weather was sunny and warm and all entrants were men.

Ty Rilleau edged out Ralf Holland-Letz by just 45 seconds for first place. Tom Dale completed the podium and just nipped two hours. Complete results below.

This tough course starts in Ester and winds through roads, trails, and mining roads while climbing Ester Dome. Then it heads down Ester Dome Road before diverting off onto more trails, including a rousing downhill on the Happy Valley (Ester Dome) Singletrack Trails. It then climbs partway up Ester Dome again, before dropping down the Eva Creek Trail back into Ester.

As often happens on this course, a couple of people got lost for a bit (or a lot). We try to mark it well, but it has a LOT of trail and road intersections. Apologies to anyone who got lost (and for any name misspellings).

Thanks to Race Director Erica Betts for putting on the series. Thanks to Tom Clark, Joe Decker, and Geoff Orth for marking the course.
