*FREE BIKE/SKI/WALK EVENT *Rove Co has a free bike/ski/walk event this coming Tuesday at Chena Lake Rec Area.
Shared Event Event by Rove Co Chena Lakes Recreation Area Duration: 2 hr
This Tuesday will be at Chena Lakes rec area at River Park trail system. Enter Chena lakes area and drive down, going past the pay station in the median of the road. Continue down and you’ll see a sign on the left for River Park Road. Take that left and follow it all the way to the parking lot. We will meet in the parking lot, be ready to start at 6 pm.
This event is open to ANY skill level but take note the trail may not be packed down for smooth biking with recent snow. You can rent xc skis from REI, Trax, Beaver Sports or outdoor rec if you’re military. Fatbikes can be rented at outdoor rec, beaver sports and Goldstream sports.
The trail has three different loop systems for those wanting a longer or shorter trail. Don’t be worried about your skill level, all are welcome! Bring a head lamp, this trail does not have lights. This trail is leashed dog friendly.
Hang out afterwards for hot cocoa!

This is a comprehensive and practical hands-on bicycle maintenance and repair class! Emphasis on drivetrain, shifting, brakes, wheels (straightening), tires, tubes (flats), steering systems, cable replacement, and lubrication!

*CHENA RIVER STATE REC AREA TRAIL CONDITIONS*If you’re considering a trip out to the Chena River State Rec Area, here’s a trail conditions report from the Chena River to Ridge race.
Shared from Chena River to Ridge Jan 30 TRAIL CONDITIONS UPDATE! Trail Boss, Tommy Vanvliet headed out to checkout loop two on the CR2R course yesterday- “The trail is tracked out pretty well. Some of the climbs are a little soft in spots, but other than that, good morning!” We are excited to see the trail in such great shape already, and hope you are too! We are just over a month out from race day and will be giving more trail reports as we countdown to the start line.
Not racing? Come volunteer with us! Race volunteers are what make the magic happen on race day. We couldn’t do it without them. If interested, send Jenn and Stacy an email at cr2rak@gmail.com!
