We need trash cyclists! And cyclist trash haulers!

The Fairbanks Area Hiking Club is coordinating a trash clean up of the Matt Glover Bike Path this coming Tuesday, May 20, starting at 6pm. (Matt was a member of the FAHC as well as the FCC.)

The plan is to meet at the Morris Thompson Visitor Center to get garbage sacks and then head out. Walkers/hikers will clean up the path closer to Fairbanks. Cyclists will ride out to clean farther parts of the path. Cyclists who are up for it, could bike all the way to Badger Road and then work their way back.

We also need anyone with cargo bikes and/or bike trailers to help get all the filled bags to either end of the bike path. (One end is at the Fort Wainwright entrance and the other end is where it meets Badger Road.) Please make sure to place the bags out off the path and out of any obvious transportation corridor. Some wonderful DOT employees are making a special effort to take care of the garbage bags from there.

Come out and help clean up the Matt Glover Bike Path so that it look nice for the dedication ceremony on Saturday, May 24!

(If you can't make the Tuesday clean up but want to help, you can always head out on your own. All help is appreciated!)
