*REASON TO SERVE ON FCC BOARD #4*Why should you join the Fairbanks Cycle Club board? We’ve got lots of reasons!
Top Ten Reason #4: To work with coaches, athletes, and parents to create bike education opportunities for kids, teens, and young adults.
Elections for new Fairbanks Cycle Club board members are coming up in October. All positions are open and several current board members will be stepping down. That’s a great opportunity for others (you?) to step up! The FCC needs dedicated cyclists to help keep cycling an important and vibrant part of the Fairbanks community.
Give us your reasons! Why do you think people should serve on the FCC board?

*ENDURO RACE TO BE HELD THIS SUNDAYs*There’s still one more MTB race to go this season!
Shared from HooDoo Cup Mountain Bike Race Series Sept 15 For those interested in the Enduro this Sunday here are some general race details. Reach out to us in messenger with any questions. We’re really excited to put this race on! Awards ordered yesterday along with some stickers. Signage has been planned out. Let’s do this!
On site registration/waiver signing/bib registration is from 10:00 – 11:30 on Sunday. You’ll save some money if you sign up online BEFORE Sunday so go ahead and do that here: runsignup.com/Race/AK/Fairbanks/FairbanksEnduroRace
This race is 3 downhill courses. You are only timed on the downhill but you must ride to the start of each course.
The race begins at noon with a meeting at the start line. The start line is the intersection of Henderson and Ester Dome Rd.
Course 1: Ride one mile up Ester Dome Rd to the new Equinox trail on the left side. This is the start of timed route #1. We will send participants down 1 at a time spaced a minute apart. You get to the bottom of this trail to the double track and take a left. Ride the double track for about 1.5 miles to just before you hit Henderson Rd. That’s the finish. If doing a practice run there is a large rock/boulder on your left and a sign on your right facing the road saying no motorized vehicles. That’s your finish line. Pedal through the finish!!
Course 2: From the finish of course one you will turn left and head up Henderson Rd. to the Henderson Rd. drop in. The one we use for the HooDoo Cup. The drop in is the start for routes 2 and 3. Route 2 is HooDoo Cup Course #1. Basically straight down the single track trail with no turns to St. Patrick’s Rd. Typically the final turn to the road is a left turn to St. Patricks with a short distance to go. This is your finish line for route 2 right after you make this left turn. You will not go all the way to St. Patrick’s Rd.
Course 3: You are going to turn around and ride back up the Equinox course trail. There will be a very short period of overlap with riders coming down. Give the timed riders the right of way. You will cross Ester Dome Rd and continue on the trail working your way back up Ester Dome. The trail pops you out at Ester Dome and Henderson (hey weren’t we just here earlier?). Now you ride down to the Henderson Rd. drop in coming from the other way. Timed Route #3 is HooDoo Cup Route #3 from 2019. So you’ll quickly veer off to the right. We will not be doing the new cut of trail where the jump was. You approach the finish line with a right turn instead of a left.
YOUTH DIVISION: There is a youth division for kids age 12 and under. They will do routes 2 and 3 only so when the adults head up Ester Dome, 15 minutes later we’ll send the kids down Henderson to the drop in.
Got it? We’re going to post some videos later this week and the map is available at Goldstream Sports. We’ll get that posted as well.
We’ll have some drinks and snacks in the morning but other than that, an Enduro is a self supported ride. Bring your own nutrition and be ready to do your own repairs if need be! You have 4 hours to finish the route. If you haven’t started down route 3 four hours from the time we start, you’ll be DQ’d.
Food and awards will take place at 4:30 at Goldstream Sports.
