*FCC FACEBOOK WEEKLY WRAP-UP* *(An anti-social media compendium for our non-Facebook members)*
*BIKE SWAP NEEDS VOLUNTEERS*Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help for the FCC Bike Swap on June 5! But we need more volunteers. We can’t put this on if we don’t have enough volunteers sign up. We especially need people to help with the sale (11am-1pm) and the cash out/clean up (1-2pm).
Also, Arctic Triathlon is letting us use their bike racks. In return they would like three people to volunteer at their June 26 race.

*QUICK BIKING SURVEY NEEDS RESPONSES*Want to help out some UAA nursing students with a very quick survey about biking? Check out the link below.
Shared from Francesca Bitz May 26 Hi everyone! My group and I are working on our final project for Nursing school and would really appreciate if those who ride bicycles in Alaska (18+ years, please!) could fill out our anonymous survey regarding bicycle safety. It is a short survey and would really help us out! Thank you & please feel free to forward to you friends/family as well!

*TAKE CARE DURING MOOSE CALVING SEASON*This notice is from Anchorage, but it’s valid up here, too. Moose are all over the place – in the woods, crossing roads. Mama moose are usually very protective. Bikes can be fast and silent. You can get yourself into a bad situation in a hurry.
Here’s some advice, if you do get into an encounter with a mad moose: www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm%3Fadfg%3Dlivewith.aggressivemoose
Shared from Singletrack Advocates May 23 Moose Calving Season is here. Please give moose the space that they need. See caution sign attached for details. Moose calving season is from May to Early June.
